I hold the following qualifications: Master of Arts (Clinical Psychology) 2011 and B.Psych 2006 both with the University of Zululand, I am a qualified and registered Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. I am based in Nelspruit Mpumalanga, as a private practise Clinical Psychologist. I’ve rendered psychological services at a primary health care level and tertiary health care level. I have participated in the following workshops: Consultative Workshop on the Draft Policy on Prevention and Treatment of Substance Abuse May 2017, Consultative Workshop on the Prevention of and Treatment for Substance Abuse Amendment Bill, 2016, May 2017 and Consultative Workshop for the Draft National Drug Master Plan 201-2022, June 2017.
I have been exposed to a variety of working contexts where I rendered psychological assessments (personality, neuropsychological, intellectual/cognitive and forensic); Conducting situational analysis on mental health services, research on causes and prevention of para-suicide within Ehlanzeni District, and to develop an action plan for promotion, prevention, treatment and recovery; Establish routine training on mental health and mental illness; Hospital and PHC facilities visits; quarterly training per sub-district for health care practitioners; Provide psychology outreach services; Rendering Psycho-education about Mental Health and Mental Illness to different stakeholders; and Psychotherapy (including individual therapy, group therapy, play therapy and family interventions on an inpatient and outpatient basis).
